So, today is a special day on two counts. One, Halloween, and two, P-day. So, the result is we only have one hour of proselyting time before we have to be in our apartments or at the Stake center. And we spent our morning helping with an inevitable service project. So, emailing time will be short today as we still have to go shopping and *fingers crossed* I get a haircut. 😀 *I wish, I wish, with all my heart…*

Other than that, this week was great! We went on an exchange, I stayed in the area with Elder Starr, and it was awesome! We also had the ward Halloween party, which we helped with set up and take down, and that was great.

Coming up this week we have well… the usual stuff. Nothing too far out of the ordinary, dinners with members, a bit of tracting here and there, service projects… the whole shebang.
Also, my costume this year consists of my regular missionary attire, and an awesome pug mask. I’ll send pictures next week, but it’s awesome and all the kids loved it. *Bonus Points to Elder Awesome*

That’s it for this week y’all! I’m sorry if not all of you get an email this week, today is x5 busier than normal, so I apologize… I can only type so fast…
Love you, miss you, happy Halloween,

– Elder Jon Peter Ahlstrom

This week we did lots of service. Lots. It didn’t seem like much when we were planning, but then more of it came up through the week, and we did lots of it. Helping a few people with their gardening, pruning a bunch of trees, sweeping, sweeping, sweeping, sweeping, sweeping, helping people move in to a THREE STORY HOUSE. More sweeping. So, when we got home Saturday evening, I showered and passed out. Slept. Like. A. Rock.

That accounts for most of our week. We have a Halloween party coming up this week, no idea what I’m gonna be yet. Inspiration will strike me.

Love you, miss you,

Almost Halfway!

This past week was transfers, and……. *drum roll*

I’M STAYING IN LAGUNA HILLS 2ND WARD! Along with Elder Mann, and the other companionship in our ward, Elders Tree and Fambrough. And our room mates, Elders Powell and Starr, are staying as well. Not much changin.

The ward is really happy we are all staying, mostly because we are a really easy group to feed. And they like us for some reason, your guess is as good as mine.

But, as always, I’m excited for another transfer, moving on to transfer 7 of 16. Almost half way there guys! It blows my freakin’ mind that the time has gone by this fast, and while a lot has happened, it doesn’t feel like too much time has passed. Maybe it’s the lack of real seasonal changes in SoCal?

Well, that pretty much takes care of it for this week.

Love you, miss you,

Line Dances and Dinner with the Bishop

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Tuesday nonsense to bring you this belated missionary blog update.

Well, since yesterday was a holiday, the libraries were closed. So we actually had time to clean the apartment. 🙂 And that means I get to email y’all today!
This week we had a big Stake activity, the Harvest Hoedown. So, picture a bunch of blonde Californians wearing skinny jeans and cowboy boots trying to figure out line-dancing, and that sums up the night. It was great! Everyone was having a great time there, and we were able to make these sleeping mats for the homeless out of recycled shopping bags, which felt great to actually do something to help those less fortunate.

This next week we are looking forward to meeting with our investigators and inviting them to our Bishops house for a new-move in dinner. It’s goin to be bomb.

Well, that’s it for this week!
Love you, miss you,

Well hello there!

Wow. This week was awesome. Mostly due to conference, but there have been little things happening that have made this week special, just like all the rest.
One awesome thing that happened this week! We were going by a list of people in the ward that our Relief Society Pres. gave us, and there was one name in particular that we figured we weren’t going to get in anyways, but we felt like we should stop by anyways. We ended up getting to meet this person, and taught them a short lesson. We even got to help give her elderly mother a blessing, which was awesome to be able to be there and help bring the Spirit.

Not much else except preparing for Conference, going around to all our investigators and following up on inviting them to conference, inviting them again if needed, the gathering of snacks to keep myself awake, usual stuff for a guy like me in a mission such as this. Much like President Uchtdorf, I used copious amounts of a zero sugar, zero carb energy drink that will go un-named. 🙂
Speaking of conference, I’d better get the typical questions out of the way. I liked so many of the talks, particularly because I was able to stay awake through all of them, but I liked Elder Bednar’s talk and Elder Nelson’s talks in particular.
That’s about it this week!
