Surprise Changes!

Literally everything changed last Tuesday. I gave y’all an update on Monday, but then some big changes happened.
So, that night we got a call from the Zone Leaders and they asked us to meet them at our apartment a little early… Okay…? So we go back to our apartment, and one goes with Elder Hanks and one comes with me, and they asked us for some help with something that happened in Newport Beach (my old area). So, basically, there was a situation that needed to change in Newport, some people in that zone were causing conflicts, so some emergency transfers had to happen, and they were moving one of these missionaries here, to Laguna Hills 2nd Ward. And they would be replacing Elder Hanks, and Elder Hanks would go to San Clemente.
……. what?
So, I have a new companion! When I found out who it was, I was super excited. His name is Elder Mann. He was in my last district in Newport, and we got to be great friends. He’s from Arizona and he’s been out for about 18 months. It was sad to see Elder Hanks go, but in the extra week we had, we were able to get past some of the issues we had and made a lot of progress. It was good to end on a high note like we did, and it will be good for him to have more experiences in San Clemente.
Other than that, there hasn’t been much going on here, Elder Mann is in a boot and that makes it less than easy to get around. (He broke his leg playing football on Pday. It should be healed in another 3-5 weeks or so.) We have lots of great stuff planned for this week, it will be good to have someone with a bit more experience to bounce ideas off.
Well, wish me luck!
Love you, miss you,
– Elder Jon Peter Ahlstrom
